What a second technical opinion can answer
Does the proposed solution address the actual business problem? Is a rewrite necessary? Are data migration, integrations and rollout included? Which unknowns could materially change the budget or schedule? These are useful questions even when the current vendor is a good fit.
Our review focuses on the reasoning and delivery risks. The result may support the existing proposal, suggest a narrower first phase or identify questions to resolve before signing off on implementation.
Review the scope behind the number
Two estimates are difficult to compare when they assume different acceptance criteria, responsibilities or levels of discovery. We look at what is included, what is excluded and what evidence supports the technical choices.
For a legacy system, we pay particular attention to undocumented behavior, data quality, integration contracts and verification of the replacement. A low estimate can omit necessary work; a larger estimate can include responsibilities that your team already covers.
A practical outcome you can discuss
An initial review can outline a recommended direction, key questions, major risks and a ballpark alternative. A more detailed engagement can examine architecture, code or migration assumptions and produce a written review against an agreed scope.
We do not need to take over delivery for the review to be useful. You can use the findings with your internal team or current provider, or ask us to help implement the agreed approach.
Send the proposal and the business context
Share the scope, estimate, architecture notes and the outcome the project needs to achieve. Include deadlines, constraints and any concerns you want the review to address. Remove confidential information you are not authorized to share.
The free technical assessment is a high-level first opinion. Detailed due diligence or code analysis may require paid discovery. We agree on that scope before starting, and distinguish findings supported by evidence from questions that remain open.
